Promotion of your activities is crucial to raise awareness with your audience of the opportunity to get involved.

How to promote public activities

If your activity is open to the public, you can raise awareness using other public communication activities such as:

  • embedding the link on your website or in a blog post
  • printing the URL of the activity on postcards to hand out in shopping centres and other public areas
  • sharing the news on social media, or
  • running a targeted social media campaign. Engaging in local community Facebook groups about the activity is a good idea.

Use the social media icons on your activities' landing page to send messages via these channels.

How to promote private activities

If you want to engage a group of stakeholders in a private activity, invitations from Confers alone might not be sufficient. Can you find other ways to tell them about their chance to participate?

Some ideas include:

  • sending an email highlighting that they will soon receive an invitation and that you value their engagement
  • a newsletter
  • highlighting it at the close of meetings
  • finding a ‘champion’ who will promote engagement.
